Radiation problems don't announce themselves. They arrive as schedule slips.
Every one of these risks is cheapest to remove at the very beginning of a project. That is exactly where we work.
Engineering and applied research at the core of radiation reliability
NucleX s.r.o. is a spin-off of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. As a radiation assurance partner we reduce our clients' technical, cost and schedule risk in radiation-exposed applications — through early analysis, fast in-house testing and certified computational extrapolation.

The radiation assurance chain — four steps, one partner
Four small commitments. Each one retires a specific risk before it can reach your schedule — and you enter wherever your project stands today.
Risk Pre-Audit
Analytical assessment of radiation risk: environment model, review of existing data, triage of critical items, recommended test plan.
→ Technical reportEarly Testing @ LaNA
Board- and component-level screening: X-ray dose response up to 160 kV, fast and thermal neutrons, optional combined climatic stress. Slot within 2–3 weeks.
→ Measurement protocolTEST+SIM
Measurement plus validated simulation (state-of-the-art Monte Carlo code, SCALE, SERPENT, ANDREA) extrapolating results to the target environment and scenarios.
→ Report usable in safety & RHA documentationCampaign Management
Test plan, sample preparation, dosimetry and supervision of your qualification campaign at accredited partner facilities.
→ Managed qualification campaignNot only measured data — their interpretation. Experimental testing combined with certified computational simulation and validation, extrapolated to your real operating conditions. One supplier, one report, one responsibility.
What early screening is worth
Traditional route
- Every critical COTS item goes straight to full qualification — at full unit price
- Weak components surface only inside the campaign — redesign, re-test, repeat
- Each late finding re-enters the queue for loaded European test facilities
With NucleX
- Analytical triage retires items without any testing — existing data does the work
- Early screening at LaNA catches weak parts before the campaign, in weeks
- Only confirmed candidates enter paid qualification — once
Model scenario with explicitly stated assumptions (12 COTS items, LEO mission). We walk you through the full calculation — with your numbers — in the first meeting.

Adelphi DD-108
D–D fusion generator, ~2.5 MeV, nominal yield 1×10⁸ n/s; moderated configurations for thermal neutrons.
SMART EVO 160D
Tungsten anode, 20–160 kV, up to ~3.8 Sv/h at 1 m — dose-response screening of components and boards.
Combined stress testing
Radiation exposure combined with climatic load — closer to real operating conditions in a single campaign.
Full instrumentation
He-3 counters, fission chambers, Bonner spheres, HPGe spectrometry, PADC/TASLImage, SCANSILC imaging panel.
